How the Yardi documentation assistant works

Answers Voyager 7s how-to questions step by step, citing the manual page it used. Searches 300+ official Yardi manuals across nine knowledge areas, with guardrails that keep resident PII out of prompts.

Result: Used daily for first-line Yardi questions; answers now arrive in 2–4 seconds, down from 8–15, after a three-provider model test.

How do I process a move-in?

Answered for Affordable Housing

According to the Affordable Housing Leasing Workflow User's Guide 7S r.2 (Posting HUD 50059 Move-Ins, and Posting LIHTC, HOME, Rural Development, or Local Program Move-Ins), the move-in steps depend on the household's program. Since you haven't confirmed Senior Living, the steps below cover Affordable Housing; the sources I have don't document Senior Living move-ins.

Executive summary

Post the move-in from the Move In tab of the Community Manager Dashboard, which changes the household's status from Future to Current. (Sources 1, 7, 9)

Prerequisites

For LIHTC, HOME, or Rural Development residents, you must have entered the dates that complete the certification before you can post the move-in. (Source 9)

What keeps the answers trustworthy

An assistant that invents a menu path is worse than no assistant, because people follow the instructions.
